  18. The Pentium Pro 200 - is about 3 times faster than a P100. Which is 
  19. around the quoted speed for the Alpha 21064 @ 275 MHz.
  20. If UK prices are anything to  go by, you should be able to afford 2 
  21. pentium pro systems for the same price as a Alpha.

  23. We have one such machine and I'll be glad to benchmark it on any scene 
  24. you wish.

  26. One word of warning - early P Pro machines had a chipset bug on the 
  27. motherboard which dramatically slows down PCI bus performance - make sure 
  28. you get a machine with an Orion Stepping B0 or better.
